An invitation to spend a week or two with childhood friends seemed like the perfect way to help Helena’s recovery from cancer treatment. Helena had grown up with the Hickmans, had spent many happy holidays with them, and the fact that they lived in a Castle surrounded by forest on the edge of a lake only made it seem all the more perfect as a rest cure. Then, a man is found burned to death in a car on the edge of the Castle estate and this seemingly irrelevant occurrence creates unexpected disturbances in the lives of all those living in the Castle.
